Why does the audio keep stopping, or not play smoothly?
If your network connection is not consistent, you may experience problems connecting – the audio will pause and load. You can check your connection speed at www.speedtest.net.

Check that your connection is not being shared with others that may be downloading or uploading files. Network traffic may also build at certain types of day, so you may wish to try later.
Some security programs, firewalls or routers may block your access to our stream. This may mean that you always see a loading screen. Please check your computer’s settings to ensure that it is not blocking any internet streaming or Flash features.

For the best possible experience, we suggest that you download and install the (free) VLC music player application. It works for both the Mac and PC environments, and provides the highest quality streaming audio. VLC may be downloaded from here.

Why is there no sound?
If the stream appears to be playing correctly but you hear no sound, please perform the following checks on your system.

Have you turned on your speakers and turned up your computer’s volume?
Can you hear other sounds from your computer?

If not, check all cables from your computer to your speakers are plugged in correctly. If you can access your computer’s sound card settings, you should also check that the output of both master volume and wave are set to acceptable levels. On Windows, these settings can be accessed by double clicking the speaker icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen (in the System Tray).

Make sure the volume control within your audio player console is set to an acceptable level.

Why does it say the streaming server is offline?
There may be a problem with the 2RDJ servers at that time or it is down for maintenance. Try again – it might be that your computer and a 2RDJ server aren’t connecting properly. In our experience, after a couple of attempts, a good connection is made and the streaming will continue, otherwise try again later.

If you are using Windows and Microsoft Internet Explorer it may be that Internet Explorer, or your ISP, is caching stale content. This is very common. Try Shift-Ctrl-F5 to refresh your current page. What about my download limit and ISP?
Streaming may affect any limit (or cap) that your internet service provider (ISP) may have.
Some ISPs limit usage. This means you may only download a certain amount of data each month.
Broadband usage limits are usually calculated in megabytes (MB) and gigabytes (GB) where 1GB is approximately 1,000MB.

If you go over your download limit, your ISP may charge you extra or restrict the service you receive.

Your contract will contain the details of your download cap. If you’re unsure, it’s a good idea to contact your ISP and find out if there is a cap and what they’ll do if you exceed it. 2RDJ is not responsible if you go over any limits.
