About
The Show
In
2006 we were joined on
2RDJ by students from the
following schools on air
to co-host the programme;
Five Dock Primary,
Rosebank College,
Darlington Primary and
Newtown Performing Arts
High.
In
2007 School Of The Month
debuted in full on
2RDJ-FM as a monthly
programme on a Monday
between 5pm and 7pm with
special episodes
celebrating Education
Week, School Spectacular
and Meriden's 110th
Anniversary.
The first full episode
went to air on Monday
26th February, 2007 with
four students from PLC
Croydon hosting the
programme.
In 2008, the programme
grew in popularity
following an appearance
on Channel 10 News with
Angela Bishop. Due to the
popularity of the
programme, the number of
participating students
was increased from four
to six and additional
episodes of the programme
were required to cope
with the increased
demand.
The
programme now features
trivia, celebrity head
and singing games.
Special episodes of the
programme were run for
Walk To School Day,
Education Week, MS
Read-A-Thon and School
Spectacular.
In
2009 an estimated 20
episodes of the programme
will be presented and as
such a name change to
"2RDJ's After School
Detention" was
needed. Jase, Maria and
Nikki hope you can join
them for After School
Detention in 2009 by
nominating your school
using the form below.
The
students that get
selected by their school
to co-host the show will
be presenting news,
weather and traffic
reports, sports reports,
selecting music to be
played to air and present
their own segments such
as short stories,
interviews and reports.
All music and segments
the students present will
need approval before
going to air. Following
the programme the
participating students
will record a 40KPH
School Zone announcement
to be played on 2RDJ-FM.
