It is with sadness that we let you know that George Stephenson, a long-standing and valued member of the Radio 2RDJ family, died this morning (10 April) in Pathways, Sailors Bay after a short illness. He was 90.
George came to Radio 2RDJ in the early 90s, producing and, with his late wife Felicity, presenting Kaleidoscope – a weekly interview program which ran for some 22 years.
After a short break following Felicity’s death in 2015, George returned to the air-waves with George & Friends – again an interview program but focussed more on people and what made them tick. Every now and again, George would record a music program – featuring music from the great musicals or focussing on an particular artist.
George is survived by his great-niece Justine, his partner Judith and a wide circle of good friends and colleagues from the radio and television industries.
