In C was a landmark recording in the late ’60s by minimalist composer Terry Riley.
Africa Express – a collective that includes Brian Eno and Damon Albarn – have taken the basic formula and structure of this piece and, using West African musicians and instruments, percussion and voices, transported it to Mali’s capital, Bamako.
We’ll play this landmark “covers” album in the second hour of the program … between 5 and 6 pm. Tune in for some inspiring listening.
