This week on Black Routes we’ll play some vintage rock ‘n’ roll from a couple of beaut compilations on the Spanish El Toro label, Ray Harris and Friends : Mississippi Rockers and Rocket Morgan and Friends : Louisiana Rockers, along with tracks from The Blues Train‘s latest compilation, Train Trax Vol 3.
Our featured disc for May is A Great Day For the Race from a wonderful Melbourne band, Flap!
We’ll try to find space to debut some great new single-artist releases from various quarters.
Our birthday tribute this week will be to a giant of pre-war blues, Blind Willie McTell.
And of course there’s our usual roundup of bluesy happenings around Sydney – with some emphasis on Harry Manx.
